Industry Training

The Sheep CRC, AWI, MLA, Sheep Genetics and the State Departments of Primary Industry (I & I NSW, DAFWA, DEEDI Qld, TIAR (Tas), Rural Solutions SA and DPI Vic) have jointly developed the one stop shop for Flystrike Management.

Flystrike and Lice Management workshops will be held at locations around Australia and will provide information for sheep producers on an integrated approach to managing breech strike and body strike. 
 

Participants will learn:

•  How to pick the sheep flies love;
• Which chemicals work for flies and lice; and
• How to prepare your management and breeding plan to prevent flies and lice.

The workshop will help you to:

• Reduce the dollars you are spending;
• Reduce the time it's costing you;
• Increase your income.

Dates and locations for workshops will be added below once they are confirmed.

Flystrike Prevention Workshops - February & March in NSW

These workshops are free to sheep producers - morning tea and lunch is included.

The workshops will cover:

• Reducing the susceptibility of your flock to flystrike NOW!
• Breeding and selection is a solution.
• Peronalising your own prevention program.
• Lice management and treatment.
• Learning to use FlyBoss
• Preparing your  management and breeding plan to minimise the impact of flystrike on your flock!

The workshops will be held on the following dates at these venues:

Wednesday, 29th February

Forbes Rugby Club and is being held in conjunction with Yarong Merino Stud.

Thursday, 1st March

Condobolin Agricultural Research Station.

Friday, 2nd March

Collerrina Hall.
